Sushi Spot SD
For this project I was tasked with creating and designing a small booklet based on Japanese sushi restaurants around the San Diego area. The booklet was fully built from scratch with all writing, pictures, imagery, and design done by me. The design was meant to fit that of Eastern or Japanese style imagery and colors. With a bright pop based tone the booklet was meant to be attenting grabbing and collectable.
Concepts and Roughs
When conceptualizing this design I took inspiration from many of the restaurant's menus as well as the overall decor. Simple and minimalistic was the main takeaway for the initial designs, with the colors red, black, and white being the main driving style. After this conceptualization however a completely different direction was taken focusing more on brighter more pop colors and vibrant imagery. This direction would lead to the final product design.
